Known for his boundless energy and enthusiasm,
Dave has the ability to teach and influence his clients

2000 days of guiding he knows the most unique climbs in

Susan has been a climber for 18 years
starting her climbing career in Eldorado Canyon in Colorado.
Since then she has climbed all over the world including;
Africa, Asia, Nepal, Europe, Mexico and Canada. In the United
States she has honed her skills in the Tetons, Wind River
Range, Pacific Northwest, Yosemite Valley, and Tuolumne,
the Sierras, Joshua Tree, Idyllwild, the Shawangunks and
many other climbing destinations. She is not only a proficient
rock guide but a mountaineer and ice climber.
Susan has worked for Yosemite Search
and Rescue and the American Alpine Club. She comes to climbing
full time after having a career in corporate America where
she acted as Director of Technology for GMAC and most recently
Vice President of Consulting for TIE Commerce, an Amsterdam
based software company. After a leave of absence to build
a school in Nepal she came to Joshua Tree for her annual
visit that she has done since 1987 and decided that was
where she was going to stay. She began guiding for Uprising
Adventure Guides, Inc and bought the company in the spring
of 2004.
Susan is an AMGA
Certified Top Rope Site Manager and has spent the
majority of her life teaching people how to climb. Come

Darryl started climbing as a teenager
in the Tahoe area and Yosemite National Park and has been
a professional guide in varying activities for seven years.
His guiding experience in Rock Climbing, Cycling, Sea Kayaking
and Hiking give him a well rounded base of knowledge and
experience.
Darryl is a guide who has completed
the AMGA Rock Instructor Course
and moved to Joshua Tree five years ago after falling in
love with it's beauty. His knowledge and appreciation for
rock climbing in this area is reflected through our client
satisfaction.
Darryl's goals for a climbing day are
always safety, client comfort and fun!

Jeff has been actively rock climbing
since 1972.
Jeff was the Director of Wilderness
Outings for over 13 years, when it was organized under Adventure
16, from 1989 to 2002. During that time, he grew the program
to serve well over 15,000 clients, introducing them to the
outdoors and the very fine cadre of instructors he had cultivated
for over a decade.
Before that, Jeff worked for various
other experiential education and outdoor programs, including
a 12 year tenure with Outward Bound. He is an AMGA
Certified Top Rope Site Manager and still enjoys
teaching and guiding. With many big wall climbs, mountaineering
ascents, sea kayak expeditions and cross-country ski traverses
to his credit, his current interests find him surf kayaking,
mountain biking, or canyoneering.

Among the many roles Theresa has filled as
a professional outdoor educator, her contributions to guiding
and technical instruction are outstanding. Since 1989 Theresa
has taught many adventuring enthusiasts good judgment skills,
the art of risk management and having fun. Her experience
has come from working with youth, adults, and womens groups
at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Pacific
Crest Outward Bound School (PCOBS) and Yosemite Mountaineering
School. Theresa has accumulated over 75 weeks of wilderness
expedition experience.

Markus has been a climber since
1984 and is an AMGA Certified Level I
Rock Guide. He began instructing climbing professionally
in the outdoor education industry at Cal Poly State University
in 1988.
In 1990 he became an instructor for
the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and for 10
years taught 30 day climbing expeditions in remote wilderness
settings. Markus has also guided at the Yosemite Mountaineering
School and the Outward Bound School in the North Cascades.
Personally Markus has climbed at more than 63 major climbing
areas in the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.
Markus is known in the industry for his patient, safe and
fun teaching style as well as his climbing ability and experienced
as an outdoor educator.
