Markus Jolliff

Since 1985 Markus Jolliff has been practicing climbing. He began teaching climbing in 1989 with Outings at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo California. In addition to studying Recreation Administration Markus  instructed climbing for the National Outdoor Leadership School in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming and later in the North Cascades of Washington and Arizona, Nevada, Mexico for 10 annuals. Joshua Tree became  winter place of residence and a local guiding career grew with his cragging practice.  AMGA Certification as a rock instructor followed in 1998 in Yosemite and then some guiding for Yosemite Mountaineering school. Soon Uprising Adventure Guides became a solid anchor for markus in Joshua Tree where he started to facilitate entry level courses for the AMGA and now he is grateful to train and teach others SPI course directors.

Markus’ teaching style revolves around the participants needs and their learning style and based on systems and concepts that provide “tools” giving you the creative opportunity for style while practicing climbing.
